  39.     This command can be accessed from an image menubar as 
  40.     <span class="guimenu">File</span>-><span class="guimenuitem">Close</span>,
  41.     or by using the keyboard shortcut
  42.     <span><b class="keycap">Ctrl</b></span>-<span><b class="keycap">W</b></span>.
  43.     In most environments, it can also be executed by clicking a "Close"
  44.     button somewhere on the image window titlebar.  The location and
  45.     appearance of this button are determined by the windowing system
  46.     and window manager.

  49.     "Close" closes the image and removes its window.  Closing an
  50.     image is not undoable:  once it is closed, everything is gone,
  51.     including the undo history.  If the image is not clean---that
  52.     is, if you have changed it since the last time you saved
  53.     it---then you will be asked to confirm that you really want to
  54.     close it.  Note that images are marked as clean when saved to a
  55.     file even if the file format chosen does not preserve all
  56.     information present in the image, so it is a good idea to think
  57.     for a moment about what you are doing before closing an image.
  58.     If there is the slightest possibility that you will regret it,
  59.     it can't hurt to save a copy as an <a href="go01.html#gimp-file-save-xcf">XCF</a> file.
